About the sport

Pickleball is usually played on a smaller court, with a paddle and a plastic ball that has holes in it. The game is played on a rectangular court, similar to a badminton court, with a net in the middle. It can be played in singles (one player on each side) or doubles (two players on each side). It is relatively low impact and gaining popularity amongst the adults older than 70 years old.

The rules are pretty simple: players or teams take turns hitting the ball over a net, trying to score points by making the ball land in the opposing team’s side of the court and the opponent must return it before it bounces twice.

There's a quirky rule called "kitchen rule"(a non-volley zone near the net where players can't hit the ball mid-air) which makes it distinctive from other racket sports. The game is played to 11, 15, or 21 points, and you must win by at least two points. Pickleball is known for being easy to learn, fun for players of all ages, and can be played indoors or outdoors.
